Description:

The State Museum of A.V.Suvorov happened to become the first memorial museum in Russia. It was established by all-nation motion under protection of Russian Emperor Nicholas II in 1904. The housе for the Museum was specially constructed to the original design of architect Alexander von Gogen, assisted by Hermann Grimm.

The collection comprises over 100000 items, including many of the Generalissimo's pesonal belongings, documents, portraits, paintings, graphics, armaments, furniture etc. The museum also houses the country's largest collection of tin Soldiers (about 60000). On May 1998 the Museum was opened for public after 10-years break. It's orogonal interiors were restored and the new exposition was arranged.
