Description:
    Date of birth - November 13, 1886. Author of "Project of a public museum in Samara" and founder of the museum - Petr Vladimirovich Alabin.

    In the museum buildings:

    Specialized museum building (former museum of Lenin). 2000 sq. m of exposition and 1500 sq. m of exhibition floor.

    Cinema and lecture hall for 270 seats, library and reading hall.

    Expositions: "From the Stone age till Golden Orda", "Life of minerals", "Tied with one chain.." (natural societies of the Samara area - forest, steppe, water objects), "Our region during the Great Patriotic war (WWII)", etc.

    Mansion of Kurlin - unique city merchant villa in modern style (architect Zelenko, 1903). Exposition on the area history from the Samara fortress foundation till 1918).

    Branches: - House-museum of the family of Ulyanov in Samara, House-museum of the family of Ulyanov in the village of Alakayevka, House-museum of M.Frunze in Samara.

    Museum collection - about 200 000 museum items.
