Description:
    Samara Museum for Historical and Regional Studies named after P.V. Alabin is one of the oldest museums of the Volga Region. It originates from the public museum named after Emperor Alexander III that was established in 1886 on the initiative of the head of the town P.V. Alabin . In 1993 the museum was renamed in honor of P.V. Alabin.

    More than 180 thousand objects are stored in the museum repository. The museum contains collections of archeology, natural science (paleontology, mineralogy, zoology, botany), historic way of life and ethnography. There is a very interesting numismatic collection , the collection of rare books of XVIII-XIX centuries, documents of XVIII-XX centuries, cold steel and fire-arms of Russia, Asia and West (XIV-XX centuries)
