The museum is in capital of Karaginsky area - settlement Ossora. Îssora in transfer from koryak language on the russian means - a small house of salmon. The museum is located in the center of the item of Ossora. The museum has been based on May, 28th, 1984 and its founder is Vladimir Lazarev. In a museum there are two showrooms: a hall of arts and crafts creativity and history of area and halls of art department. Now in a museum 356 subjects are and many of them are subjects of special value.

    The museum is one of the main carriers and keepers of traditional knowledge, native land stories.
