Description:
    The Vasnetsov Brothers Regional Art Museum is on of the oldest and richest provincial museums of Russia. The museum was founded on December 5/18, 1910.

    The Collection possesses over 17000 works of art. It boasts icons, early Russian embroidery, works of art of the famous Russian artists (paintings, drawings, prints, water colours, engravings, sculptures, folk and applied arts).

    There are many European paintings and engravings in the collection too. The best works of art are included in the constant exposition of the museum.

    The museum's staff does research, compiling catalogues, publiching articles and books, holding conferences, supervising the preservation and restoration of pictures and sculptures, making a lot of exhibitions.

    Loan picture exhibitions from different museums and collections, exhibitions of Vyatka artists are often held in the Central Exhibition Hall with is the most popular affiliated department of the Vasnetsov Brothers Art Museum. The Vanetsovs' house in the village of Ryabovo and Khokhryakov's House are also among the main affiliated museums.
