The exposition of memorial studio of the poet and artist T.G. Shevchenko in the edification of the Academy of Art tells about his life and his activity as an artist.In commemoration of the 150th anniversary since the birthday of Shevchenko in 1964 the memorial room was restored. Here the artistspent the last years of his life and where he died in 1861. Shevchenko took this room in 1858 afterhis returnfrom exile. There was his studio and on the inezzonine he engaged in literature. Here he worked also in graphic, perfected himself in art of engraving and in 1860 he was honoured with title of academican-engraved. Exposition of memorial studio also illustratesthe earler period of shevchenko's activity in St -Petersburg where he spent 17 years as a whole.
