Yaroslsav Gashek (1832 - 1923) is a Czeh writer famous for his keen and observant eye sparkling though bitter irony and peculiar style/ In October - December, 1918 he was appointe an assistant town major over Bugulma District. In 1966 a memorial museum was opened in the house. There is a memorial apartment, three expositions of the museum includes a wide - ranging display of photographs, short stories and novels in different languages, papers and documents, sculptures, souvenirs associated with Gashek and his popular hero Shweik. There is an inscription on the wall of the house commemorating Gashek. The museum badly needs some restoration and certainly redecoration as at the moment it is unfortunatly in the most poor condition.

    The wooden one- storeyed house was built in the end of the 19 century. It belonged to a certain merchant R.N. Nizheradze.
