Description:

Museum was founded in 1991 in settlement Umba of Murmansk region. The expositional area is 262 square meters. The exposition of the museum inform about the life of Pomors on the shore of the White sea during five centuries, main occupations of the Pomors fishing (sea, river, lake), hunting (game, fur-beaver) and sea-hunting.

The Pomors were skiful in making different tipes of sea-boats: vessels, karbas, kotch, shnyak, in knitting fishing tackles.

The rarer Pomor's ethnography collection exhibited in the museum is unike. The traditions of Ancient Russia are reflected in Pomor's clothes, houses, made furniture and instruments of work.
