The State Biology Museum named after K. A. Timiryazev was founded in 1922 by academician B.M. Zavadovsky. Since 1934 Museum works in P. I. Shchukin estate - monument of history and architecture of Russian Federation.
The museum is unique in covering a complete range of Biology topics: all the Kingdoms are shown in 17 exhibit halls. Open air Botany exhibition and Conservatory complement the exposition. In 2013 a new exhibition space had been open - Interactive Laboratory: Transparent Science with modern microscopes, models and natural exhibits for researching.
More than 50 exhibitions (including traveling to different places in Russia ones) is organized every year. More than 80 Biology topics are presented to kids and adults through excursions, interactive and practical workshops.
