The Ispolkom has decided to organize the public organizing committee on the 6th of December 1989 taking many offers and wishes of region citizens about the opening of Sergievsk Museum of Local Lore. The Museum was opened on the 19th of June 1993 during the celebration of the 290th anniversary of the fortress Sergievsk.

    Now Sergievsk Museum of Local Lore is the line of constant expositions, the creative laboratory " The Studio of Marvels", which is the place of making master-classes, the folklore ethnographic group "Zoritsa", the ethnographic theatre "Svetlitsa" and many other things.

    The constant expositions of the Museum talk visitors about the history, the living world and the archaeological legacy of the native land, the biography and work of a writer, a public figure and a railway engineer N. G. Garin- Mikhailovsky, who has lived many years in the land of Sergievsk, the model of the peasant's house gives the visual presentation about the peasant life of our ancestors, the expositions get to know with the foundations of the orthodox culture, make familiar with the military achievement of the countrymen, who were killed defending the Motherland
