The Igrinsky regional natural history museum was opened on September, 28th 1993ã. The first exposition of the museum has been devoted to the history of a timber company and its workers. It has drawn attention of people and forced them to start talking about a museum.

    Now museum exibitions tell us about the nature of our native land, the ethnography, the history of a science, the culture, and the industry, fighting and labour glory of our countrymen. There are 3000 exhibits in this museum.

    The creative team works in our museum which looks for new forms of activity, develops projects that will improve outreach and update the material and technical base of our museum. Employees of the museum have developed two excursion routes on the area which are popular in our republic.

    Every year new exhibitions are made out in museum's showroom. Employees work on gathering and generalization the information of regional studies. It was collected the material for the book "The history of Igrinsky district". It is the book about the culture of our district, which historical sketches were collected by employees of our museum.

    More than15000 people visit our museum annually. Our museum is visited by people from different countries: from Estonia, Germany, Italy, Holland, and also by people from the neighboring districts.
