Description:
Founded in 1997 in Nizhny Novgorod, National Centre for Contemporary Arts is one of the network organizations of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. NCCA was established on the basis of the NCO Centre for contemporary culture "Caryatid" that existed since 1992. The organization was started by art critics and curators Anna Gore and Lubov Saprikina. NCCA has office and TV studio and makes exhibitional projects on the different areas of Nizhny Novgorod and cities of Russia. Now NCCA maintains its stance as an important resource for emerging artists and pioneering exhibitions of new work in all mediums. With exhibitions drawn from artists' submissions, artists' projects created on site, and a full calendar of public programs, the organization has evolved into a magnet and a resource for audience interested in new ways of thinking about contemporary art. Now the Centre has acquired a stable reputation of the most active visual arts organization in Russia
