Description:
    The Museum of Altai Folk Tales Narrator N.U. Ulagashev was founded according to the bill of the Altai Republic Government on September 23, 2010 in an effort to study and popularize work of the great folk tales narrator N.U. Ulagashev. The museum was solemnly opened on March 18, 2013.

    Its collections present N.U. Ulagashev's life and work, history, material and spiritual culture of small nations, such as Tubalars, Chelkans, Kumandins. The museum offers excursions, ethnographical ceremonies.

    N.U. Ulagashev as a folk tales narrator and order-bearer, keeper of the Altai folk riches is also well-known like other poets and singers of the multinational Russian Federation. Nowadays young folk tales narrators of Altai Republic continue to create and act heroic epos according to national traditions. It is seen in annual "International Meeting of Folk Tales Narrators", which is very popular among Russian and foreign performers
