Description:

The estate Gorki dated back to the end of the 18 th century and main building has presented its original disigh. In 1910 a conservatory and large verrand were added. The park was laid out at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Before 1917 the estate belonged to Zinaida Morozowa- wife of general Reinbout.

Lenin first came to Gorki on September 25, 1918 to rest and to recuperate after this attemp on his life on August 30, 1918.. He lired here permanently from May 15, 1923. He died here on January 21, 1924.

After his death, work was started to turn Gorki into a museum. The memrial museum was opened to the public in 1949, January.
