Description:

The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan was opened in April, 1895 in the building of the Hotel court yard, constructed at the beginning of 19 century on the project of an architect F. Emelyanov.

It is based on the exhibits of a scientific - industrial exhibition of 1890 and the collection of historian, archaeologist and collector А. Likhachev.

Today the museum stores about 800 thousand exhibits, among which are unique archaeological, numismatic, ethnographic collections, based on history and culture of the tatar people, collection of rare books and manuscripts, natural science fund and soon.

We hope for restoration of one of the oldest museums of the country.
