A house, where was born Pavel Kuznetsov, was built aproximately in 1870s. House-Museum was restored in 2000. Well-known painter was born in this home of his parents in November 17, 1878. He died in 1968 in Moscow. His father - Varfolomei Fedorovich, was an icon master. His mother - Evdokiya Illarionovna, was a house wife. May be, young boy's first impressions of his father`s job was a beginning for his way in art.
Pavel Kuznetsov museum actively supports contemporary artists - representatives of actual art in line with traditions of leading painter of "Blue Rose" symbolist group (beginning of XX century). Museum frequently hosts exhibitions and installations of painters from Saratov and from other parts of the country.
Unfortunately, museum does not have enough space to host experimental art. Radishev Museum keeps a unique collection of works by P.V. Kuznetsov (about 340 works) and by his wife Elena Bebutova (about 180 works) in its reserve stock. A big ram shackle building, where once was a working shop of the artist's father neighbours museum. A picture gallery for Pavel Kuznetsov's works and a museum complex would perfectly fit the building. But it is necessary first to move out people living there. Museum staff, their friends, and Saratov's cultural community has been trying for years (unseccessfully) to show importance of such museum complex for the local authorities. In case of positive descision of this issue the city may get new unique museum complex
