The exhibition department of the Center of Culture and Leisure was founded in 2009 as a result of the joining up of Mikhailovskoe Skripkov Exhibition Center and Mikhailovskoe Museum of Local Lore, History and Economy. The department bears the name of the national artist - Yakov Nikiforovich Skripkov - a compatriot and the founder of the Art Gallery in Mikhailovskoe in 1975. His monumental portraits of K.Tsiolkovskiy, U.Gagarin, G.Titov, A.Leonov, V.Tereshkova and other space pioneers and explorers, together with the famous Astronauts Alley in Zvezdniy Gorodok, mosaic panels, wall-paintings, pylons in Artek, Ulyanovsk, Barnaul are famous all around the country. Thanks to Skripov's collecting work there is a rich collection of pieces of art by Altai, Moscow and Russian artists (there are 46 national and 65 honored artists of Russia among them).
