Description:
    The museum of Baikal fauna was founded on professor B.A. Svarchevskiy's initiative in 1919. Later professor M.M. Kozhov, known expert in Baikal, made a great contribution to museum's development. The museum has mor than 3000 exhibits of the Baikal animals and peants and also inventerbrates, contaning the large number of exhibits of water and ground animals of the world fauna, an antomological study and professor M.M. Kozhov's memorial room. The golden collection of the museum includes 18 works of art of artist B.I. Lebedinski, representing landscapes of Lake Baikal. It is an educational museum. Its expositions and fundsare actively used in the process of study.
