The State Fedin Museum was opened in June, 1981 in Saratov, native town of the writer, in an old building of the former Sretensky (Sretenie: Purification) elementary school, where Fedin studied in 1899 - 1901. Since then, the museum was considered to be a museum of Russian literature of the 20th century. The citizens of Saratov enjoyed meetings and literary evenings in museum devoted to the works of A. Blok, M. Tsvetaeva, M. Bulgakov, V. Vysotsky, A. Galitch; lectures on the works of A. Akhmatova, N. Gumiliev, B. Pasternak, A. Solzhenitsyn. A real breakthrough became stationary exhibitions based on the museum's fund, which reflected certain periods of the Russian literature development: the Silver Age, the 1920s and 'Thaw' period. For the anniversaries of the writers exhibitions were held, devoted to F. Dostoevsky, L. Tolstoy, A. Akhmatova, M. Zoschenko and others. The opening of a new regular exposition 'House of Russian literature of the 20th century' in April, 2007 became the biggest event of the cultural life of both Saratov and the Low Volga Region. At the moment, it is a unique exposition in Russia, reflecting literature process of the 20th century in all its contradictory completeness and objectively presenting the works of K.A. Fedin, a distinguished Russian writer always stuck to the humanistic ideas and universal human values
