Description:

Мussa Jalil (Zalilov) (1906 - 1944) the tatar poet, literary and public man, was executed in Berlin in 1944 for organization of underground antifascist activity in the legion "Idel-Ural".

Мussa Jalil is the hero of Soviet Union, the Lenin prize winner (both ranks are posthumous).

The museum occupies two adjacent apartments, one of which is the memorial. The apartment was reconstructed on memoirs of a poet widow L. Zalilov and his close relations in 1983.

The Мoabit writing-books, written in the torture chambers of the prison are of great value. Personal things of the writer, photos, letters, issued in Russian, Tatar, German, Czech, Bulgarian, Arabic and English languages are submitted.

Annually on February, 15 (on his birthday) the "Day of the original " will be held, when genuine Мoabit writing-books are exhibited, in the other time stored in the funds of the associated State Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.
