The Cherlak historical Museum of Local Lore was opened at the 9 May in 1985. It was created on the social basis.

    The museum is located in a small wooden house, which was constracted at the end of 19th centure. It was a former merchant house. The museum has 7 expositions halls.

    In one of it is located archeological collection, in which are things of 3-2 th befor our era from Cherlak barrow on display. Ethnography material is showed the things of mode of life, also utensils of kazach the end of 19 and the beginning of 20 centure.

    The second thema is Sibirian cossacks. The exposition consist of things, collected in cossack stanica, rare photos and documents. The museum also has material about the first chairman of Soviet cossacks deputy A.E.Melnikov, which was killed his enemy in Cherlak. Since 1917 for our days the history of region is represented in chronological order.

    In the museum are personal collection heroes of socialist Labour I.E.Sheida, N.A.Trozenko, I.W.Buzheniza, participation of Great Patriotic War coloned K.K.Smirnow, shiper senior sergeant I.S.Kaminin, many other personal archives on display.

    One of the halls contains art exhibition when are the works of professional artists our native region and masters of create on display. Basic fund consist of 5000 single of keeping.
