The museum is included into the structure of Samara University. Three main parts of the museum show: Aviation evolution stages in Russia; Main steps in space exploration; university foundation and development; academician S.P. Korolev memorial section and a permanent exhibition "Aerospace Samara".
In an exposition you can see original products and units, unique models and photos of aviation and aerospace apparatus such as: Space satellite "Photon" landing module and recovery capsule of photographic observation "Jantar-2K" satellite, which were produced in Samara; cosmonaut Romanenko?s space food samples; special equipment to be used on board the space stations "Mir" and ISS; "Pion" minisatellite designed in SSAU; Korolev's personal documents and paraphemalia, lifetime editions of Tsiolkovsky's books, rare editions, unique photos and autographs of outstanding scientists, designers and cosmonauts V. Glushko, D. Kozlov, N. Kuznetsov, U. Gagarin, G. Titov and others.
Museum of Aviation and Àstronautics is involved in varied educational and cultural activities such as lectures and classes, tutorials, general and theme excursions. It also organizes conferences, exhibitions, film shows, presentations, concerts, theme shows, etc.
