The Museum waf founded on the initiative of Yuri Gagarin in 1967. It is one of the largest collections of documents and materials on the history of manned cosmonautics in Russia including international space programs. Among the Museum exhibits there are flight suits of Y.Gagarin, G.Titov, V.Tereshkova, military uniforms of P.Belyaev, Y.Gagarin, V.Komarov, awards and decorations of Y.Gagarin, personal things, scientific devices, state flags which were in space, all generations of EVA space suits, space food, simulator of "Vostok" spacecraft, landing capsule of "Soyuz-4", loading suit "Penguin" and vacuum capacity "Tchibis", various outfits of cosmonauts
