Description:

The Krasnoarmeisk museum was opened in 1987 as a community museum of revolutionary, combat and labor glory. It was housed in a one-story brick building of the early XX century. Since January 1990, this is a branch of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local Lore. Since 1997, it is known as the Krasnoarmeisk Museum of Local Lore. Its funds host over 10 thousand items: ethnography subjects, decorative arts, ceramics from the nearby village of Zolotoye, documents and photos. The permanent exposition and the temporary displays give account of the history, culture and business life of Krasnoarmeisk (former Balzer) and the Krasnoarmeisk district from the XVIII century to the present. The visitors will get to know about peaceful coexistence of the Russians and the Germans from the middle of the XVIII century till 1941, of traditional trades and crafts, of the history of local weaving and knitting industries
