Description:

The Amur local Museum is one of the oldest in the Far East. Its history goes back to 1891 when the last Russian Tsar Nicolas II visited our region. А small exhibition hall was built on the bank of the river Amur to this event. Different items of gold-mining became first displays of the exhibition, which was organized by people working in this industry in honor of the successor to the throne. Nowadays the museum is situated in one of the oldest and the most beautiful building of our town. At the beginning of the 20-th century it was the shop which belonged to the German trade company "Kunst and Albers". The are 2 storeys and 26 halls in the museum nowadays. Its funds contain more than 160000 items, some of them are unique. The museum is named after the well-known Far-Eastern scientist G.S. Novikov-Daursky.

In 2010 the Albazinsky local museum (Albazino v., Scovorodinsky district) became the branch of the Amur regional local museum
