Museum's collection numbers about 9500 exhibits and dates old past edge, the historical development of Nizhneudinsk and its region, the ethnography of local indigenous and Russians, nature, art and culture of area. At visitor's service the museum offers a constantly acting exposure on area's history and nature as well as temporary exhibitions of different themes both from the own funds and from the funds of other museums and galleries. The museum is notable by the unique material and spiritual culture's collection of tofalary - one of the smallest folk in Russia.
